Trout Stocking Family-Friendly Event

Fish stocking has become an enjoyable community event held once or twice a year.

The goal of the trout stocking is two-fold:

1. The Brown trout help to control the population of invasive Alewife bait fish that were mistakenly introduced.  Alewife eat zooplankton that eat algae.  The trout help to keep the food chain in balance and improve water clarity.
2. The Brown trout are a great sport fish and provide an exciting Catch-and-Release fishing experience.

This is a family friendly, hands-on event.  Children should be accompanied by an adult.

Note: Transporting the trout may involve getting wet.
